What is IEEE?

IEEE, pronounced "Eye-triple-E", stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. The association is chartered under this name and it is the full legal name. IEEE, an association dedicated to advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity, is the world's largest technical professional society. It is designed to serve professionals involved in all aspects of the electrical, electronic and computing fields and related areas of science and technology that underlie modern civilization. How to Join

How do I join IEEE?

To join the national IEEE, you just go to the Join IEEE page on the official website and apply online. Once you've made an official account, student membership is $32.00/year (subjec to change), and any other subscriptions are extra.

Membership Eligibility

To qualify for an IEEE membership, students must carry at least 50% of a full-time academic program's course of study. For more detailed information, please see the Membership Qualifications page on the official IEEE website.

Joining Rowan's IEEE Student branch is absolutely free! All you have to do is attend a meeting and sign in. Meeting dates will always be announced beforehand.
